SABR & SHUKR
The Strength of the Faithful Servant
Walking with Faith Through Life’s Trials
In every moment of life, a believer is gently reminded that Allah’s decree holds both Sabr and Shukr as guiding lights through trials, suffering, and calamities

Finding Peace in Patience and Gratitude
From what the Prophet taught, I’ve learned that a faithful servant finds peace and relief by staying patient, practicing Tawbah, and keeping trust and faith in Allah.
Sabr and Shukr in the Heart That Submits to Allah’s Plan
When I personally faced challenges, showing endurance, steadfastness, and submission brought deep contentment and humility. Through Shukr, one becomes grateful, finding hope, mercy, and forgiveness in every divine plan, and through resilience, the heart truly reaches acceptance and light.
Peace Through Submission
In my experience, when I learned to show thankfulness to Allah and reliance on Allah’s will, my heart became a content heart, steady in piety and filled with compassion, knowing that true gratitude and patience in Islam are the keys to spiritual purification and reward in the Hereafter.
Understanding SABR (Patience)
The Purpose of Trials
Life’s fear, hunger, and loss of wealth, lives, or fruits are not punishments but part of the divine decree that shapes the believer’s faith and endurance.
Strength of the Patient Ones
I’ve seen how the patient ones who stay steadfast, showing trust, submission, and hope, find peace and tranquility even in hardship.

Guidance Through Faith in sabr and shukr
The Al-Quran, especially Surah al-Baqarah (2:155–157), reminds us that those afflicted with calamity who say “we belong to Allah and to Him we return” are the blessed—granted guidance, Salawat, and mercy from their
Allah’s Tests & Trials
Al-Hamdulillaah, whenever I look at the tests and trials that befall a believer, I recall that Allaah, the Most High, in every fear, hunger, or loss of wealth, lives, or fruits, bestows secret mercy and blessed guidance. These calamities are not punishment but a test from the All-Wise where the patient and afflicted ones, who believe and have true knowledge that they belong to Him and will return, have glad tidings.
Every Test Bears Wisdom
Whether by poverty, sicknesses, or good health, every test is destined, forming the reality of our ibtilaa’ as revealed in the Qur’aan and Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. I’ve witnessed how one’s riches, wife, and kids can be a test, and even in good or bad, we are tested here on earth until we meet Him.
Prophet Ayoub (A.S.) – Sabr in Suffering
If I think of Prophet Ayoub (A.S.), then I notice how his life is a lesson in real Sabr and Shukr, even when smitten with overwhelming suffering and adversity.
Sabr and Shukr to faith and Reliance on Allaah
ce on Allaah As was Umm Salamah and Abu Salamah, whose reward was great after they were tried, Ayoub (A.S.) was a true believer, demonstrating faith, submission, and reliance on Allaah.
Trust in Divine Decree
Through sabr, shukr, and iman, all trials turn into a Sign of Allah’s Love, resulting in Elevation in Paradise and pardon for sins through spiritual cleansing. Holding on in hope, trust, and surrender brings peace, guidance, and safety from punishment in the Hereafter, as every adversity unravels divine mercy and wisdom.

The Relationship Between Sabr and Shukr
Every moment in life demands either Sabr or Shukr, teaching us faith, trust, and gratitude in Allah’s divine will. A true believer finds peace, obedience, and contentment through patience in trials and thankfulness in blessings, as shown by the Prophet

Shukr
Women in Islam and Muslim Society
In Islam, a grateful heart reflects through actions and deeds that please Allah, The Most High. As women in the Muslim society, we are instructed through the Holy Quran to work with gratitude, to stay active, and to build and design our lives with thankfulness. I’ve felt that when a woman’s efforts are guided by faith and sincere Shukr, even small acts turn into worship, creating peace and purpose in every moment of her life.
Concealing Gratitude within the Heart
Recognizing Blessings from Allah
True Shukr of the heart begins when the heart senses the value of blessings that Allah has bestowed upon His slave, realizing with awareness and faith that every great blessing comes from Allah alone, with no partner or associate.
Acknowledging the Divine Giver with Faith
It is an obligation for us to acknowledge this divine giver through recognition, sincerity, and worship, for such gratitude deepens belief and nurtures appreciation toward the One who constantly showers His mercy.
